Welcome to the homepage for National Assessments 5-14
The 5-14 National Assessment Bank has moved to a new server. This move requires your school to use a new username and password. These have been provided in an e-mail and letter to your local authority. If you have not yet received them, please contact your authority's assessment co-ordinator.
The purpose of the bank will not change. It will continue to provide materials which may be used to complement teachers’ judgements of pupil attainment.
In preparation for school year 2010 – 2011, the Scottish Government, SQA and Learning and Teaching Scotland are seeking to develop a new and much more ambitious and innovative 3-18 assessment resource which will
- support National Qualifications and the Scottish Survey of Achievement,
- provide examples of assessments for all ages and stages in all curricular areas and in a variety of formats (written, video, audio, graphic, etc.), with learners’ responses and guidance,
- involve practitioners in developing, peer reviewing and quality assuring assessments for CfE experiences and outcomes, and in developing their learning about assessment,
- include information and guidance about assessment for CPD and an area for learners to explore assessment to support their own learning.

About the system
National Assessment 5-14 are assessment materials designed to be used by teachers in Scottish schools to complement their judgements, based on the evidence of work the pupils have done in class, about pupils' levels of attainment in reading, writing and mathematics. National Assessments are based on the attainment outcomes and strands set out in the relevant National Guidelines 5-14.
