Accessing the download area

The download area is for use by registered users only. In most cases registered users are schools. All schools in Scotland have been sent details about how to access the download area. If you are not a school or other registered user, you will not be able to access the download area.

You do not have the instructions for accessing the download area for the first time.

Please consult your head teacher in the first instance. If the head teacher has not received the instructions then he/she should contact AifL@Scotland.gsi.gov.uk or fax to AifL on 0131 244 7001 giving school name, address, email address and telephone number.

You have difficulty accessing the download area for the first time.

If you follow the instructions provided to schools but still experience difficulty, then contact the Helpline on 0870 0100 297

You try to log in but a message appears saying "Login failed".

If you see the message "Login failed" there could be several reasons:
  • You may be using the wrong SEED number and password.
  • Check that you have used the correct SEED number and password.
  • A colleague may be logged from another computer.
  • Wait until that person has logged out.
  • You may have closed your browser a few minutes earlier without logging out.
  • Wait five minutes and try again. To avoid this happening in future make sure that you always log out before closing your browser.

If you still have a problem, then contact the Helpline on 0870 0100 297

You have registered as a user, but have forgotten your password.

Use the "Forgotten password" option in the login area of the download page.
